Muffin-Top Meltdown – Week 1


The Muffin-Top Meltdown has returned! 

Si BKSi  DKEvery May, we like to have a challenge for our members to MELT the inches away and get ready for the exciting, warm weather so they can rock their favorite summer gear… and of course get Beach Body ready!  Brian & I wanted to join in on the fun, so we are participating this year too. 

Brian and I both needed something to keep us focused.  You would think it would be easy to fit in our own workouts owning a gym….WRONG!  Just like everyone else, we have to make the time.  Metldown Brian and IPersonally, I get wrapped up doing the day to day operations of the gym and then all of a sudden it’s time for me to leave for the day. I just missed another opportunity to workout.  Time slips by so quickly.  So, no more excuses!  We are in full force.   It’s great that Brian and I can do it together, lean on each other and hold each other accountable at home and at the gym.  That’s one of the reasons why we train in small groups and semi-private sessions at Evolution Fitness.  It has been proven that you get better results working out in groups since there is accountability, motivation and friendly competition. 

The challenge started on Monday, May 2nd.  First thing I did was snap a quick before photo.  Each participant must take a picture in their favorite summer gear that does not quite fit the way they wish and then put it in the Muffin-Top Meltdown Guidebook (MTMG).  My goals are a little different. While I am always looking to achieve rocking ABS, my main goal here is to get STRONGER.  As hard as it was, I decided to post my before picture…sorry it was early in the morning and I had a baby crying in the background.  Brian’s goals are a bit different than mine. He is gearing up in the hopes that he will get the call from American Ninja Warrior to compete again this year.  He is training hard for the course and obstacles ahead! His focus is grip strength, balance and overall conditioning.

For 30 days, we will workout a minimum of 3 times per week, nutrition guidelines for the MTM and de-stress weekly.  The fitness program is specifically designed to burn fat and tone muscle. Within the MTMG, there is an accountability calendar that must be completed daily by tracking our workouts and nutrition guidelines. When the 30 days are over, we snap an “after” photo in the same outfit and any participant that finishes the challenge is entered into a drawing to win a GREAT PRIZE!   

Week one is over and we feel fantastic.  We’ve been getting our workouts in, rocking the nutrition guidelines and just overall we feel amazing and super motivated.  Here are some pictures of the fitness program we did this week!
